The National Highways Industry Awards provide an important opportunity for teams to be acknowledged and recognised for the collaborative relationships they have with National Highways. Working together, creating a network that delivers, and constantly improves, to makes a positive difference to customers who use it and communities who live around it.

The Ringway team were finalists in the Excellence in safety learning and culture category and although they did not win the category, their Transforming Safety incident learning approach submission was one of the top 3 entries within this category!

The idea behind the Ringway submission has built an open culture to understanding the behaviours behind incidents; embraced finding different views and has ensured the full end-to-end process of what led to an incident is reviewed and challenged to determine true root causes that can be actioned to mitigate future risks.
