Ringway resecures Milton Keynes Highway Infrastructure Term Services contract

Ringway has been reappointed as the Highway Infrastructure term service delivery partner for Milton Keynes City Council, for a second term. This appointment is testament to the strong partnership built delivering the highway infrastructure service in Milton Keynes since 2014, and the innovative and sustainable way in which we will continue to evolve the service for the Council, Milton Keynes residents and for all the travelling public using the highway infrastructure 365 days of the year.

 

The new contract sets out a bold and forward-looking vision for the highway service, which will continue to support Milton Keynes evolving as a great city for the future. This win is significant for Ringway, as it is testament to their investment in honest, open partnership working on sustainable, digital services, which add value to the local economy and communities. The contract value is approximately £21M per annum for the initial 8-year term, commencing on the 1st September 2024, with 2 additional extension years available, subject to performance.

 

The contract highway assets cover 1,526km of the local highways; encompassing 141km A-roads, 63km B-roads, 421km C-roads, 901km of Unclassified roads, 1,135km footways, 346km dedicated cycleways and over 1Mm2 of verges. In addition, there are 763 bridges and highway structures, 54,400 streetlights, 41 traffic signals, 72,000 drainage assets and 114,000 trees. Ringway will undertake routine, reactive and cyclical highway maintenance on these assets, together with emergency response, winter and abnormal weather service operations. In addition, there are infrastructure planned and programmed major maintenance and capital improvement of Milton Keynes infrastructure, such as drainage improvement schemes, highway and junction improvements, Public realm projects, safety and traffic management and the maintenance of highways electrical assets amongst others.
